【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesperformancerequirementsandtestmethodsunderprescribedlaboratoryconditionsforapumpedsorbenttubeusedinconjunctionwithanairsamplingpumpforthedeterminationofgasesandvapoursinworkplaceatmospheres.AdditionaltestsdesignedtoestablishwhethertheperformancecharacteristicsofthepumpedsorbenttubeareaffectedbythewiderrangeofenvironmentalinfluencesthatmaybeencounteredinfieldusearedescribedinannexesCandD.IfthereisnopumpedsorbenttubeformeasuringaparticularchemicalagentwhichmeetstherequirementsofthisEuropeanStandard,itisrecommendedtouseapumpedsorbenttubewhoseperformanceisnearesttothespecifiedrequirements.SomeofthetestmethodsdescribedinthisEuropeanStandardrequiretheuseofanairsamplingpump.ThespecificationforsuchapumpiscoveredbyEN1232.ThisEuropeanStandardisapplicabletopumpedsorbenttubeswhichareusedfortheindirectdeterminationofconcentrations,bysamplingandanalysisinseparatestages.Thesetubescanbedividedinto:-typeAsamplerswhichrelyonsorptionontoasolidorontoasupportimpregnatedwithareagent,desorptionwithsolvent,andsubsequentanalysisofthedesorbate;-typeBsamplerswhichrelyonsorptionontoasolidorontoasupportimpregnatedwithareagent,desorptionbyheat,andanalysisofthedesorbate.NOTE1.TypeAsamplersusuallyconsistoftwobedsofsorbentinseries,i.e.withaback-upsection,andcontainanactivesorbent(e.g.charcoal)orasupportimpregnatedwithreagent.Theback-upsectionisnotusedinthebreakthroughtests,butinfielduseisaprotectionagainstunexpectedbreakthrough.NOTE2.TypeBsamplersusuallyconsistofasinglebedofactivesorbent(e.g.porouspolymerresin).Specificaspectsoftheuseofreagentimpregnatedsystemswillbecoveredinadditionalpartsofthisstandard.TheEuropeanStandarddoesnotapplyto:-pumpedsorbenttubeswhichareusedforthedirectdeterminationofconcentrations,forexample,length-of-staindetectortubes;-samplerswhichrelyonsorptionintoaliquid,andsubsequentanalysisofthesolution(bubblers).ThisEuropeanStandardshouldenablemanufacturersandusersofpumpedsorbenttubestoadoptaconsistentapproachtosamplervalidationandprovideaframeworkfortheassessmentofsamplerperformanceagainstcriteriaspecifiedinEN482.ItistheresponsibilityofthemanufacturerorofthosewhoassemblethepumpedsorbenttubestoensurethatthesamplercomplieswiththeoveralluncertaintyrequirementsunderthespecifiedlaboratoryconditionsgiveninthisEuropeanStandardincludingsuchenvironmentalinfluences(e.g.temperatureandhumidity)thatmaybeexpectedtoaffectperformance.Nousefulperformancerequirementscanbegivenfortheeffectofinterferents(withtheexceptionofwatervapour).However,theuserofpumpedsorbenttubesshouldbecautionedthatinterferencesmayoccur(see5.8e).NOTE3.AnnexesCandDrelatingtofieldtestsarenotobligatoryaspartofthisEuropeanStandardbutaredirectedprimarilytotheusersofsuchdevices,whoareinthebestpositiontoknowthespecificfactorsthatcansignificantlyaffectsamplerperformance.NOTE4.Becauseoftheknownrelationshipbetweenatmospherepressureandatmosphericconcentrations,apressuretestisnormallynotnecessary.
