【摘要】:ThispartofIEC61290appliestoopticalfibreamplifiers(OFA)usingactivefibres,containingrare-earthdopants,currentlycommerciallyavailable.TheobjectofthisInternationalStandardistoestablishuniformrequirementsforaccurateandreliablemeasurementsofthesignal-spontaneousnoisefigureasdefinedin3.1.18ofIEC61291-1.Thetestmethodindependentlydetectsamplifiedsignalpowerandamplifiedspontaneousemission(ASE)powerbylaunchingopticalpulsesintotheOFAundertest.TheASElevelismeasuredbysynchronouslymeasuringthepoweronanopticalspectrumanalyzer(OSA)duringtheopticalpulseoffperiod.TheaverageopticalsignallevelismeasuredbyrandomsamplingintheOSA.Suchmeasurementispossiblebecausethegainresponseoftherare-earthdopedOFAisrelativelyslow,particularlyinEr-dopedOFA.However,sincetheOFAgaindynamicsvarywithamplifiertypes,operatingconditions,andcontrolschemes,thegaindynamicsshouldbecarefullyconsideredwhenapplyingthepresenttestmethodtovariousOFA.ThemanufactureroftheOFAshouldpresentdatavalidatingtherequiredmodulationfrequencytolimittheerrorto
