【摘要】:Thistestmethoddeterminestheamountofwaterabsorbedbyabackingmaterial.Waterabsorptionbythebackingmayaffectsealantperformance.Thistestmethodisalsousefulwhendesignatingproperstorageofbackupmaterialandindeterminingappropriateprecautionswhenusingbackingmaterials.Thespecifier,usingthistestmethod,canexercisejudgmentintheselectionofbackingmaterialsbasedonwaterabsorptioncharacteristics.1.1Thistestmethodcoversalaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingthewaterabsorptioncharacteristicsofsealantbackingandjointfillermaterials,hereinafterreferredtoasbacking.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3ThecommitteewithjurisdictionoverthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardspublishedbyotherASTMcommitteesorotherorganizations.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
